Pupil Leadership
The voice and opinions of our pupils are so important to us – after all it is their school and their education.
Each year, pupils of all ages are given the opportunity to join the school’s leadership teams within a number of areas which might interest them. Pupils are expected to make representations, either written or through verbal presentation, to classes or panels who then steer their interests and enthusiasm into effective pupil leadership groups.
Heads and Deputies
Two heads and two deputies are appointed each year, to assist the Headteacher and senior leadership team during specific events and in decision making.
Prefects
A larger number of prefects are elected each year who assist in the practical smooth running of the school e.g. Setting up for events, supporting teachers, technical IT support, supervision and guidance of pupils and visitors.
The Steering Group
The Steering Group work with teachers and subject leaders to focus on Pupil Wellbeing through nurture, the curriculum and extra activities.
The Eco Club
The Eco Club encourage us to keep an eye on our carbon footprint from encouraging the saving of energy around school to being involved in ‘greener’ school building modifications. They also are involved in our school garden and how it can be utilised for future food sustainability.
The PE Leaders
The PE Leaders work closely with the PE subject leader and PE coach on promoting sporting opportunities within school and are ambassadors for the promotion of good health.
PALS
The Play at Lunchtime Leaders facilitate well organised, well equipped games at lunchtime to ensure that our pupils have an enjoyable and active break.
The School Council
Representatives from each class are elected onto the School Council each year. These pupils meet regularly to discuss particular aspects of school life which can then be shared with the above leadership teams.
Our pupils appreciate having their ideas heard and make valuable contributions towards the shaping of their school life.
